Weekly Words of Whizzdom: Start Each Day with a Positive Thought

It’s Wednesday, time for another “Weekly Words of Whizzdom”!
This week’s quote is:
This sounds very syrupy, right? Like something meaningless you see on a…. well…. Motivational wellbeing card pack or poster 😃 But rather than taking it as a sweeping statement and giving it no further thought, I’d like to introduce you to one of my favourite positive psychology models – Broaden and Build. Developed by Barbara Fredrickson, the theory and supporting research states that if we are feeling positive it broadens our minds to be more receptive to learning, ideas, and has a positive effect on our social relationships as well. And the more positive we feel, the more we attract positivity.
Why not give it a try? Set yourself a little reminder, whether it’s a note posted by your bed or a message when your alarm goes off. And a positive thought could be anything that makes you happy; a memory, something you’re looking forward to, something that makes you happy, excited, joyful – whatever works for you.
And see if this makes a difference in your day!
