Introducing the 5 ways to Wellbeing
Wellbeing is an important topic for me and as you can probably tell it’s at the heart of everything I do, which is why I am so passionate about helping others improve theirs! The benefits of making time for this are immeasurable; but for starters, an increase in physical health means we’re less likely to get ill or injure ourselves, and untimately feel more energised. When we look after our mental health, we develop resilience (the ability to bounce back); emotional intelligence (the skill of being able to recognise and manage emotions in ourselves and others) and better manage stress and anxiety. Sometimes people feel a bit overwhelmed by this topic and know they want to feel better, but aren’t sure where or how to make the changes they need to.
Over the coming weeks I’m going to be introducing you to and discussing the NHS 5 ways to Wellbeing which is a really good place to start if you’re looking to make some positive changes in your life to benefit in greater physical and mental wellbeing. Here’s an overview to get you started, and the NHS website goes into a lot more detail:
- Connecting with other people
- Being physically active
- Learning new skills
- Giving to Others
- Paying attention to the present moment
Even if you only make one small change in one of these areas each day, you’re already on the right path to make a huge difference to your lifelong wellbeing journey. Work with me for guidance on developing your own wellbeing plan so you can define and reach YOUR wellbeing goals!
